With the 2022-23 school year coming to an end, as the Communities In Schools Coordinator at Pleasant Hill Elementary, I want to thank all of the students, staff, and parents for a great year and a huge thank you to the parents for allowing their child/ children to be a part of Communities In Schools. This year I have built wonderful relationships with families, students, and staff and this program would not be successful without you. I am looking forward to next school year and working with all of you again. Pleasant Hill fourth graders you will be missed. I want to wish you all the best of luck as you move up to Calhoun Middle school. You all will do great things and always remember the sky is the limit. Good morning, You may hear students talking about the our new alert system today. Calhoun County School is in the final stages of testing the system, provided by the COPS Grant, in our schools. This system will allow quicker response times for schools and first responders in case of an emergency. Evaluation of the system is starting, to ensure all the settings and various announcements are working.

Be on the lookout over the next couple of weeks for bags that say Book Hunt on them. I will be hiding several of them throughout the county. Once you and your child have found a bag please, tag me in a post that you have found one of the the Book Hunt bags, private message me showing me or come to a group and see what all we do during these groups. My goal is to bring more awareness to, two of the programs we offer families in Calhoun County with children 5 and under. These 2 programs are Early Steps to School Success and Early Steps to Kindergarten Readiness.
